About RecursionAI
RecursionAI is an R&D lab and professional services firm for agent-first software. We build infrastructure and agents — and help businesses design, deploy, and train for agent-first products. AI/AX (Agent Interface / Agent Experience) is an emerging category under active R&D; expertise and training are available now, with frameworks and tools coming soon.
We were founded by Jackson Oaks and Ryker Ross. Our flagship R&D is Courier OS, the operating system for local AI on Apple silicon, and Scout, a local agent optimized to run open-source models on your computer. We also run the MCP Store — the App Store for Agents.
For businesses, we offer Strategy Sprints, custom agent and MCP builds, team training at $200/seat, and rigid packaged Sales, HR, and Support agents when that fixed scope fits.
Everything we research, ship, and discover lands in the weekly newsletter.

What We Believe
The principles that guide our work.
Hands-On, Not Theoretical
We don't operate on theory. We test every tool, build every system, and ship every pattern ourselves before recommending it — from Courier OS to MCP apps.
Agent-First by Default
Software is shifting from deterministic UIs to probabilistic agent interfaces. AI/AX — Agent Interface / Agent Experience — is an emerging category we research and train teams on today.
Ship Real Solutions
We ship real products of our own and advise businesses on how to do the same. We're builders who deliver professional services, not advisors who guess.
Open Research
We believe in sharing what we learn. We write about every tool we test, every deployment we run, and every lesson along the way.
